DoGood Member Spotlight: Geoff Mulligan
Professional Bio:
Geoff Mulligan is the IOT practice lead for Skylight and CTO for IoT for Jabil.
While Chairman of the LoRa Alliance, his leadership brought the organization to over 500 members, over 40 global network deployments, and the release of an open certification program.
As a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow focused on the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems, working with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), his work helped the Administration and the Institute address issues relating to connecting networks of machines, facilities, and people and also helped energy consumers make better use of their energy usage data.
Geoff has been instrumental in Internet development, creating the 6lowpan protocol and helping with the original design of IPv6. He holds over 15 patents in computer security, networking and electronic mail, and was called to testify before Congress on electronic commerce and computer security. He has spent his career focused on the Internet of Things, RF Sensors, IP networks and open systems. He was a founder of the Zigbee Alliance and was a founder and of the IPSO (IP for Smart Objects) Alliance (IPSO).
Geoff received his M.S. from the University of Denver and B.S. from the United States Air Force Academy.
