DoGood Member Spotlight: Bernard Truong

Professional Bio:

Currently leading the technologies and digital transformation monitoring team at Desjardins. Previously, Bernard was responsible for developing and deploying the third-party risk management framework for another Canadian financial institution. Bernard also contributed to implementing and evolving the operational risk management framework (first line of defense) in several areas, such as telecommunications and retail industries.

Throughout his career, Bernard has been appointed to the executive council of several professional associations. He has also been invited as a panelist and speaker at third-party risk management expert forums in Mexico, Asia, and North America. Bernard was co-chair of the Concentration Risk Committee for Domestic Systemically Important Banks (DSIBs) in Canada.

Before joining Montreal Pride as board chair, Bernard was president of the Montreal Parallel Learning Center (Le CAP) board of directors, a non-profit organization helping people with mental health problems. Bernard also served as a member of the Social Development Investment Committee of Centraide of Greater Montreal (United Way).

Bernard holds a bachelor's degree in science from the University of Montreal and an MBA for executives from McGill - HEC Montreal. He also holds the advanced designation of Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP-Gov) from IAOP, and the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA.
